This quirky cafe and restaurant will make you feel like you took a trip back in time to 1960s America. Decorated with vintage posters and classic car, P.S. Bu Bu Restaurant is sure to make your dining experience unforgettable. Plus reviews promise that their  food is to die for!

This is one of the classiest cafes we’ve ever seen. Deja Vu was created by Jay Chou and magicians Liu Qian and Will Liu. The cafe is decorated with a vast array of vintage pieces to give it a distinct Victorian-gothic feel. Some of its most noticeable pieces include a darkwood furniture,  stunning grand piano, and detailed stone gargoyles.

 

  1. Rilakkuma Cafe

Theming cafes after beloved characters is a common practice, so we’re not surprised that this Rilakkuma Cafe actually exists. The brown Japanese bear and it’s tiny chick companion are famous throughout Asia, and this cafe celebrates that fact by decorating the entire cafe with head-to-toe Rilakkuma merchandise. Come to this cafe if you want your dose of cuteness for the month.

 

  1. Modern Toilet Restaurant

While the name of this restaurant may sound rather unappealing, the way they have remained loyal to their toilet theme is impressive. Modern Toilet Restaurant is designed to look like a bathroom, with diners seated on actual toilets while they dine on dishes served in mini toilets. This wacky restaurant is definitely one you want to try out whether you’re looking for some tea or a complete meal.

 

  1. Alice is Coming

This darling cafe is themed exactly as it sounds, inspired by the iconic Alice in Wonderland story and Disney movie. Alice is Coming allows you to sip tea with the Mad Hatter or share a meal with the Queen of Heart. It’s preciously decorated in bright colors with quirky designs and patterns. This is the place to go for any true Disney fan.

This is the best cafe to go if you have children with way too much energy. Car Car Hotspot is a racecar themed restaurant and cafe, featuring everything from checkered flags to bright, flashing lights. But, what the cafe is most known for is its large indoor playground, which noticeably looks like a bus. This means the kids can safely play while the adults enjoy some coffee and grown-up conversation.

 

  1. A380 In-Flight Kitchen

You don’t need to be travelling far to fly in this airplane-themed cafe and restaurant. Enjoy your meal at A380 In-Flight Kitchen, where you’ll be seated in blue seats complete with headrests overlooking oval-shaped windows and real baggage compartments and served by waitresses dressed as flight attendants. You can reserve a “first class” seat in advance to get the real VIP treatment.

This cafe may seriously be the cutest thing ever! Oia Cafe is an alpaca cafe, so you can enjoy some furry company while you sip your coffee. Guests are allowed to pet and feed the various alpaca the cafe houses in their backyard during specific times of the day.

Of course everyone’s favorite Kitty has her own cafe. Hello Kitty Sweets is a darling cafe that’s filled with adorable pink decor and is known for serving instagram-worthy teas and desserts featuring Hello Kitty’s face. This is a must-go for anyone who calls themself a fan of the famous cat.

If you haven’t had a chance to go to the zoo lately, take an adventure to the incredible Zoo Cafe in downtown Taipei. You’ll feel like you took a Safari in the Savannah after catching up with a friend at this cafe.

That’s right- Kumamon has his own cafe! Kuma Cafe is dedicated entirely to the Japanese bear, decorated in a red, black, and white colour scheme that matches the beloved character’s theme. The cafe is known for creating adorable desserts and confections featuring Kumamon as an edible waffle or pancake, which we’re sure is just as cute as it sounds.

 

There is definitely no shortage of cool cafes in Taipei. Take an adventure and explore any of these interesting restaurants and cafes. Perhaps you’ll find your new favorite spot for coffee, but at the very least you’ll definitely have a fun time awing at all the eccentric decor and menu options.
